ロブ・ファン フーセルは、2006年に旧式のオペル コルサの助手席から、35のベルギーの高速道路を撮影した。ファン フーセルにとって、オランダの南の隣国ベルギーは、フランス、スペイン、イタリアへ行く際、常に通過する最初の「外国」であり、休日を過ごす際の目的地でもある。この本のために、ファン フーセルは1,000枚の写真を選定した。それらは、個々の高速道路の道路番号に従って構成され、追加情報が添えられている。
